So a few weeks ago at the Curvy Revolution I met a very talented, young designer by the name of Ashanti-Nichole Hamilton. Ashanti-Nichole is the owner of a denim fashion line for plus size women called Deztinni. She launched Deztinni in 2005 after a realization that fashion was her destiny! Not knowing much about the fashion world and with absolutely no professional training Ashanti-Nichole jumped right in and was able to launch her first collection by the summer of 2010.
All designs in the Deztinni collection are custom made as she is one of the few designers that works without a pattern. You contact Ashanti-Nichole directly and send her your specific measurements and she makes the style you select custom…to your measurements! Each piece in the collection is made from recycled denim and you can even send Ashanti-Nichole your very own used denim pieces to be remade into something from the Deztinni collection. Each piece is decorated using bleach, tie-dye and distressing to create a unique 60′s and 70′s retro vibe.
Deztinni also has a t-shirt collection featuring her most popular tee, The New Size 7.
Deztinni continues to make strides in the fashion community and will be involved with LA Fashion Week. Deztinni will have a fashion show at the Hollywood Kiss the Curves event happening at the LA Convention Center March 18th-19th. Tickets can be purchased at Kiss The Curves Tickets.
